Signals from Mt. Saint Helens
Mt. St. Helen's mini-eruption at Tuesday's Mars-Saturn opposition is symbolic of Springtime's thrust. As the new moon crossed the Pisces Sun last night, it is now in its power cycle . Release the frustrations of winter, spring forth with fresh resolve. The Moon will join Mercury in Aries tonight (6:03 Pacific), and by the full Moon, we will be reborn into spring. In the twelve days until the equinox, finish old business, prepare your garden to seed the new spring cycle. In future blogs I will outline the massive shifts ahead.

Perhaps a little PNMS?
As the Old Moon slithers through Pisces today approaching the early morning's New Moon (1:12 am Pacific), we find we are a little spreadeagled between finishing things up and moving them forward. So we may experience a little PNMS -- Pre New Moon Syndrome, an anxiety-producing condition where we feel la bit like wet tissue-paper at times. Onward, inward, and upward my friends, keep the swim through Pisces moving toward the magnificent rebirth of Spring.

The Eyes of the Moon
I have often told students that the best way to learn astrology is to follow the Moon through the 12 signs, as it spends 2 1/2 days in each sign, completing the zodiacal journey in a month, thus reflecting the essence of all 360 degrees each and every cycle. Today, the Moon is in the sign of the Age or dispensation we have recently entered -- Aquarius -- and will move into Pisces this afternoon at 4:32 (Pacific). So today, the Moon holds a hologram of the larger precessional time frame planet Earth is in: the cusp of the Piscean/Aquarian age. Aquarius is ruled by revolutionary Uranus, Pisces by dreamy Neptune. And since there is a "mutual reception" of Uranus and Neptune -- namely Neptune is in Aquarius, and Uranus in Pisces -- there is a fascinating weaving of ancient wisdom reflected in the eyes of the Moon, the windows of her soul and our subconscious mind. Food for your thoughts.

Mars opposes Saturn
My advice for today: Unwind, stretch your body, exercise, loosen up your mind, do your breathing exercises, meditate, drink some chamomile tea, get a message, listen to Enya, Bob Marley, Vivaldi -- whatever relaxes you. Rent Robin Williams "Live on Broadway" or some other form of laughter-inducing hilarity. The Universe is serving up a little Cosmic Crunch for breakfast tomorrow (8:15 am) in the name of Mars (Capricorn) opposite Saturn (Cancer) -- unlimited energy meets irresistible force. A wringing out of the karmic towel. Drive carefully. Jupiter retrograde in Libra t-squares this confrontation, amplifying the energy. What we want to do to is not force the issue. Grease the squeaky wheel, gracefully tai-chi tense situations, try not to take the unfolding drama too seriously. Like gas, this too shall pass.
