Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, uprisings, overthrows, wars, financial volatility, political meltdown. Humanity seems to be becoming anesthetized to cataclysm as upheaval becomes the new normal. Uranus, the awakener is saying 'good morning' during its sunrise into Aries as it approaches a square formation with transformational Pluto between now and 2015. Yet this is only the beginning. For this quirky giant and ruler of Aquarius – spinning sideways and retrograde to the other planets -- is the Lady Gaga of the heavens. And the wild thing is, this logarhythmic rate of accelerating change will all seem tame a short stretch down the road. For the new Aquarian dispensation is being born of cataclysm, the very engine of evolution. That engine is now firing up.

During this wild ride through the labyrinthine matrix of unfolding stellar signatures, we are witnessing a veritable tsunami of zany events, both internally and externally. An hour of CNN seems like a recitation of intense Nostradamus quatrains – only with commercials. So let’s first review this fractal in the space-time continuum, look at the current triggers for this latest cataclysmic flashpoint, then preview some coming attractions for 2012 and beyond.

The Cardinal Cross – Guardians of the Portals

You have likely heard of the Cardinal Cross -- the outer planets forming a T-Square or Cross formation right at the charged seasonal or cardinal flashpoints. Picture giant Uranus in Aries on one side of a see-saw at the Spring equinox point facing Saturn in Libra at the other side at the Fall Equinox. At a right angle, both square-off transformational Pluto in Capricorn – and both grandly cross the Sun at the Summer Solstice.

These planets are like archetypal Guardians at the power portals of our planet.
And these potent seasonal switch points -- Spring, Fall, Winter, Summer -- are the astronomical points of shift which we experience each earth/solar year as the shortest and longest days (solstices), and times of equal day and night (equinoxes). In astrology, these are the cardinal or active points, and when a planet contacts them – shift happens.

So we have Uranus – zany planet of awakening and revolution, opposing Saturn – karmic planet of structure, both squaring Pluto – archetype of transformation – sitting right at the solstice and equinox points. Several cosmic events are triggering the Cross, the cosmic gateway through 2012 and beyond -- and why things are so intense.

I have called this a simultaneous christing and cruciifixion -- depending on one's evolutionary frequency: a period of breakdowns and breakthroughs on all levels. Human nature has proven that crisis is the true catalyst of evolution. And we have now entered an evolutionary hotspot, or should I say.... blowtorch!

The Spring Blowtorch and Summer Trigger

That Blowtorch got lit on March 11^th, when Uranus catapulted into the cardinal fire of Aries. Suddenly, the Earth cracked open and Japan cratered in a massive 8.9 quake, giant tsunamis, hundreds of aftershocks, and widespread radiation release.

In the US, the Ipad 2 was released. Well, besides earth-changes and revolution, Uranus also rules technology.

Shortly thereafter, revolutions throughout the Middle-East followed.

The entire cycle of The Cross has been synchronous with a quantum ramp-up of accelerating change (please see past The Lucky Star blogs).

The past is really only for the purpose of learning from and doing better than in each moment. And each one of us is experiencing a certain re-wiring of our diagram, perhaps even a re-coding of our DNA.

Warrior Mars — God of war, and action (in water-sign Cancer) — triggered the Cardinal Grand Cross on August 3rd, catalyzing and activating the changes that have been brewing and gurgling. The ensuing floodtide released events like the riots in London, mass demonstrations in Israel, collapsing economies in the U.S. and Europe, U.S. preparations to invade starving Somalia, and a spike in Earth-change activity all over the planet.

Looking Ahead to 2012 and Beyond

Between 2012 and 2015, the 126-year Uranus-Pluto cycle will be in a square aspect seven times. And that transiting square will make a grand square to the USA natal Sun.and Saturn. We are bearing witness to the US government and economic structure melting down and turning inside out. And that’s just one tip of the melting iceberg.

Perhaps the 4 crossing planets brings forth the vision of the book of revelations of the Four Horseman of the Apolcalpyse – conquest, famine, war, and death -- preceding the rise of the holy spirit. What crashes into ashes and rises from the remains will create the world of our future. But this is good news, and is really the law of the Uranian/Aquarian jungle. Look at the Tsunami in Southeast Asia for example. A quarter of a million souls left the planet, millions of people were shuffled around into instant families who were forced to create new lives out of the floods and their tears. Or the Japanese response to their disasters, simply awe-inspiring! When humans are up against their worst it brings out our best, and love is service in action. And I believe that the cataclysms and upheavals will only serve to burst open the heart of humanity to new dimensions of beauty, brilliance, love and light.

The Mayan Calendar and the Aquarian Age

Let’s consider for a moment the end point of the 13^th and final baktun of the Mayan Calendar on December 21^st of 2012 as a true Zero Point – an odometric reset of the 26000-year cycle of the Great Year. If true, then right now, we are in the final heartbeat of an age – roughly year 25,999 of 26000. Time to prepare the craft of our souls for rebirth.

I will try to boil this wrinkle in the space-time continuum down, so stay with me on this....

Giants Jupiter and Uranus around the Spring equinox point opposing Saturn at the Fall Equinox. Both Squaring off transformational Pluto in Capricorn, and both grandly crossing the Sun at the Summer Solstice.

These turning points -- Spring, Fall, Winter, Summer -- are the markers of seasonal change. They are astronomical points of shift which we all know externally by designating the shortest and longest days, and the equal times of day and night. In astrology, these are the cardinal or active points, and when a planet contacts them, shifts are likely. An opposition is like full Moon -- a completion of a cycle marked by intensity, and a square is the mid-point of an opposition. This is where things happen.

Well, on May 27, Uranus -- planet of revolution and ruler of the new Aquarian dispensation -- moved into Aries -- the starting line or ignition point of the zodiac. Whatever Uranus touches, shifts, often in a weird way. This is Springtime for Uranus, moving into the Mars-ruled fire sign of new beginnings. It is opposing Saturn -- ruler of structure and known as Father Time itself -- at harvest time, the Fall Equinox. Also, Saturn turns Direct on May 31, while Neptune turns retrograde. Indeed, this is a tug of war between the old and the new, both internally and externaly right at the powerful equinoctial vortices. Expect this planet to literally turn inside out on many levels during this phase. If you have a little (or a lot) of PSS -- pre-shift syndrome -- join the club, for this is a true twist in the space-time continuum! And both square (or activate) the most powerful force for internal transformation in our psyche -- Pluto -- near the Winter Solstice. Keywords: Visualization, reorientation, completion, activation. Wax your internal surfboard and ride the wild surf.
Now if that weren’t intense enough, Uranus gets a powerful boost in this massive shift. Expansive Jupiter also moves into Aries on June 6th, then conjuncts Uranus two days later on June 8th. Prepare for lift-off, beam-up, or at least a trampoline jump through your changes with the heavenly rearrangements.

Uranus will preview these massive changes, then retrograde back into Pisces. But on March 11, it will hit the "tilt" position once again at Zero Aries, re-activating the cardinal climax. That is when the Shift will hit the fan.

The last Jupiter/Uranus conjunction was in 1969 at the Fall Equinox (Zero Libra ) -- when there was a full blown cultural revolution in the US and the government landed a Man on the Moon. The last time this happened around the the Aries point was in 1927, when Charles Lindbergh crossed the Atlantic, and there were the rumblings of financial depression in the United States and Europe.

We are now in a period I have observed for dozens of years which I have dubbed The Grand Catharsis: a vortex of volcanic transformation from now through 2012. Expect the unexpected, and the unexpected to be chock full of surprise.
I’d suggest setting some deep intentions and preparing for some massive personal breakthroughs this summer for this new cycle. The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction marks nothing more or nothing less than a new revolution in consciousness. Uranus hitting the Aries Zero point triggers the activation of the cardinal cross. The opposition to Saturn in Libra suggests the awakening of thousands of karmic cycles on this planet. I get the feeling of an evolutionary split in the direction of people's of goodwill and those of control. The square to Pluto in Capricorn signals that this transformation runs to the core.

The doorway of change is always a bit strange, but it leads through the gateway of growth and into the magic garden of your dreams. Let's remember to have faith in the flow of love in the Universe that all will be well. And "trust in Allah, but tie down your pony..."

The Eternal Wow

The pace of change quickens as Mercury the Messenger blazes the trail into the the new zodiacal cycle of Aries on March 9th. And the vibrational surf surges as Uranus catapults into the cardinal fire of Aries on March 11th. This marks the Birth of Spring for the Planet of Change. Uranus sings strangely from beyond the visible, raising the transcendental frequency another octave. Long overdue transformations are now ripening for a plan of action. Cataclysmic events of all kinds become the new normal. By April 1st, when Mars completes the Aries Shift Parade we will all be fully engaged in a fresh new cycle. A thrill fills us with exhilaration.

The Shift Parade

2010 ended with a rare visible Total Lunar Eclipse right on the Winter Solstice, whose shadow seemed to demarcate the end of a cycle. 2011 began with a New Moon Solar Eclipse on January 4 commencing entry into the new frequency. Massive Jupiter led the charge into Aries on January 23rd, firing up the ethers with fresh juice. Mercury enters Aries on March 9, followed by the Sun on the Spring Equinox on March 20th, and finally Mars on April 1st. We now have ignition. So Go for it and Just do it! It's time to put the plan into gear, step on the gas and get ready to go fast. Procrastination or hesitation are no longer options. Opportunity floodlights the high-voltage field. The time is NOW.

Body Mind and Spirit

Aries summons courage, Uranus beckons risks and inspires innovation. Just like Ipad 2 hitting the streets on March 11th, upgrades on all levels are ready for download and implementation. The plug has found the socket, the switch has been flipped. Uranus demands change, Aries rules the head. Change the head and the body will follow. A change in consciousness changes everything. I'm going to make parts of myself obsolete so I can reinvent them with wow.

Revolution

Uranus is about revolution, about the freedom of the human spirit. It was discovered in 1781, synchronous with the revolutions in America and France. In Aries, it is highly inflammatory, kind of like putting out the fire with gasoline. Both Uranus and Aries are volatile and disruptive. And the Golden Ram Aries is the god of war. I suggest breathing peace deeply into the bubble of your personal reality, as volatility explodes anywhere the crush of suppression has tried to flush human liberation and expression.

Uranus also rules Earth Changes, sudden events, awakening, true democracy, the unexpected. With its move into Aries, big sudden shift will become the norm.

Heavenly Wow

Uranus which means heaven in Greek, rolls sideways in relation to the other planets, with most of its 27 moons spinning retrograde contrary to all other satellite motions. It broadcasts the frequency of the rebel, the independent and erratic, the bizarre, the unusual. It dares us to be different and individual, blazing pathways into fresh new horizons with innovation and creativity. The pull of the past or expectation of the future melt into the eternal now, which is now morphing into....the Eternal Wow.

From the moment that Uranus was discovered by modern civilization, there was upheaval in the traditions of both astronomy and astrology. Saturn had previously been considered to be the boundary between our solar system and the rest of the universe, as it was the outermost planet that could be seen with the naked eye. In an instant of discovery with a piece of technology (Uranus rules discovery, technology, and the "sudden"), our solar system doubled in size.

Uranus is the only planet to be named after a Greek rather than a Roman god, because the Romans identified the Greek god Chronos with Saturn -- the son of Uranus, and oldest god. Uranus, which means heaven, is the 7th planet from the Sun, located near the halfway point between the Sun and Pluto. It was officially discovered in 1781, synchronous with the revolutions in America and abroad. It spins sideways in relation to the rest of the planets, and most of its 27 moons spin retrograde -- contrary to all other planetary and satellite motions. It has 11 thin rings, some of which are kept intact by shepard moons. A blue-green colored gas giant, which appears to roll wideways through its 84-year orbit around the Sun, Uranus spends 42 years with each of its poles alternately in sunlight and darkness. It is the nonconformist eccentric of our solar system.

In mythology, Uranus was Pronmetheus, a Greek superbeing who stole fire from the heavens and gave it to humanity.

Full Moon in Scorpio Friday, May 8, 2009 9:01 PDT

This is the truth or dare Full Moon; a time to honor the transformative power of truth-telling and a very intense Full Moon to put into action (through ritual release) the goals you set at the New Moon in Taurus. Since this Full Moon falls in a water sign, releasing your intentions near a stream, river, lake, or ocean is particularly powerful. But before you let go, have one last look at your goals. Whom do they truly serve? What will they bring to the world? Since Scorpio demands depth and fearlessness, this last look will have to be brutally honest. If your goals require a change of mind, of heart, and/or of action, this is the night to successfully tackle fears that could impede the ability to fully embrace change. Scorpio seeks deep truth by peeling back layers of lies and half-truths—within us and without us. This is a Full Moon to see things as they truly are, not as you wish them to be. The intense planetary configurations on this Full Moon will be a great help in this regard.
The Moon in Scorpio (intuiting the complexity of reality) opposes Sun (motivation) in Taurus (providing for basic needs and security) and both are square the amazingly spiritual Jupiter (bliss)/Chiron (healing)/Neptune (transcendence) conjunction in Aquarius, the awakener. This T-square challenges us all to look deep within to see our own fears and know how our fear creates divisiveness and suffering for others. The thread of commonality transcends any difference we might imagine exists between any of us. The Moon in Scorpio invites us all to see beyond the veil of intolerance and hatred, and embrace true reconciliation between all nations and peoples in conflict. How many more deaths? How many more bombs? How many more shooting sprees? How much more hatred? How much more displaced anger? Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Virgo urge us all to meet this call for sanity with real action.
On a personal level this T-square sets the bar quite high for each of us. How much longer can you say it is someone else’s responsibility or feel powerless to change the world? How much more can you blame others for your own condition? How many more times can you call yourself a victim without looking at your own ability to just let go and heal? Yes, Scorpio is tough love incarnate: see it as it is, not as you wish it to be, and then deal with it in as life-supporting a way as possible. We can each in every moment make the choice to be real and responsible for what we output to our loved ones and coworkers and community.
The Full Moon in Scorpio is a time to release attachment to old pain and arise like a phoenix from the ashes of burned off karma; freed from narcissistic self-obsession and ready to help others heal their own pain. Jupiter (relating), Chiron (wounding) and Neptune (transcendence) in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces make this a particularly potent New Moon in Scorpio to wake up and out of victimology. Visualize yourself as a snake, shedding its dead skin to reveal gleaming new colors. The fresh-faced innocence of Venus and Mars in Aries will give you the energy to start anew.
The Full Moon in Scorpio is the night for full disclosure. It is the night to empower ourselves by naming our truth and shouting it from the rooftops. This is the Full Moon to celebrate our right to know. Though your merriment can take many forms, it should be done with others. This is the night to show up in a way that feels most honest for you, which sometimes implies revealing a secret or a fear. When we name our fear it loses its power over us. Make sure that if your agenda is to reveal, that you do it surrounded by a supportive, caring group of people. Don’t go this road alone on this night. Sharing the pain and the joy of disclosure is the way of Scorpio. It may only take one person to uncover a secret, but it takes many people working together to break the spell of illusion and denial.
The impulsive emotionality of Venus and Mars in Aries might make it challenging to openly discuss polarizing issues that have been hard to tackle. Make an effort to get beyond scripted points of view to find the real issues that divide and separate. Mercury in open-minded Gemini should help us to see all sides of any issue. Commonality can be gained from truthfully admitting where both side’s arguments lack focus and power.
Talking openly and honestly is challenging, but works magic for bridging gaps and bringing people together. Venus in Aries and Mercury in Gemini will lend lightheartedness to communications that could otherwise be quite intense. Try passing around a talking stick, allowing everyone to speak without interruption about whatever is on his or her mind, and in his or her heart.
Remember that on any Full Moon, the Moon is reflecting the light of the Sun in its opposite sign. The reflected light of the Taurus Sun is aglow with the love of and deep commitment to family values. Taurus likes hard work, and opening the lines of communication can be very hard, but ultimately very rewarding. This is especially true when issues of self-esteem (Taurus) lie at the heart of a family’s problems with trust (Scorpio) issues.
This is also a great time for couples to tackle trust issues, especially if a secret has been coming between the two of you. The aforementioned configurations will make this an intense night to reveal secrets and deal with the consequences, but the planets in water signs will provide enough empathy and love to get through it. Scorpio can bring destruction or relief and most times a bit of both. Just know that no matter what happens change is essential for evolution and growth. Remember that radical change done appropriately can lead to more solid relationships built upon openness and unconditional love. At its core, Taurus/Scorpio wants to love. Yes, Taurus can be judgmental, boorish, and opinionated and Scorpio can be too intense and demanding; but both signs eventually come around through an overwhelming need to love and give care.
The Taurus/Scorpio polarity requires that we learn about our power and then discover how to deal with it effectively. Those of you who can’t take all of this deep disclosure can do something a bit more fun. Join your friends for a game of truth or dare, or create a mystery game or a treasure hunt. It’ll be a hard night to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes, but it might be a lot of fun to try!
So meet the challenge of this Full Moon in Scorpio. Go deep enough to face the underbelly of your life, your goals, your community, your nation, and then arise to embrace your power to transform our violence-wary world!

The Legend and Importance of Wesak
According to Alice Bailey, when the full moon of Taurus nears, travelers near the Wesak Valley begin to gather. Holy men and lamas find their way into the valley and fill the southern and the middle parts, leaving the northeastern end relatively free. The legend says that a group of great Beings, who are the Custodians on Earth of God’s Plan (Ascended Masters) for our planet and for humanity, gather at the Wesak Valley (also known as Vesak or Visakha). In the East, this date also marks a celebration of Gautama Buddha’s birth, attainment of Buddhahood, and His departure from the physical body.
The Wesak Valley lies at a high altitude in the foothills of the Himalayan-Tibet ranges. The valley is bottle-shaped, with the neck of the bottle to the northeast, and it widens very considerably towards the south. Up towards the northern end, close to the neck of the bottle, there’s a huge flat rock. There are no trees or shrubs in the valley.
According to Ms. Bailey, these Beings who are the Knowers of Divinity are the main participants in the Wesak Festival. They arrange themselves in the northeastern end of the valley, in concentric circles, and prepare for a great act of service. In front of the rock, looking towards the northeast, stand those Beings, who are called by their disciples, the Three Great Lords: the Christ, who stands in the center, the Manu or Lord of Living Forms who stands at his right; and the Lord of Civilization, who stands to his left.
As the time for the full moon gets closer, there is stillness in the crowd and everyone looks towards the northeast. Masters and disciples of all ranks take up symbolic positions, and form on the floor of the valley such significant symbols such as the five-pointed star, with the Christ standing at the highest point; of a triangle, with the Christ at the apex; or a cross, and other well known formations, all of which have a deep and potent meaning. This is all done to the sound of certain mantras.
These sound currents produced by speech and thought are patterns of Light being released. These sound currents wash the earth and indeed connect all life through a prism of love to the Light of God and to your ‘I AM Presence.’ All unclean spirits are hushed in that moment and Light fills the earth. It is a momentous occasion. A great ceremony takes place, and all of creation benefits. The love of God reflects through the Buddha, the Christ, and the Melchizedeks. All who partake of this gift receive a blessing. The Earth moves in step to these blessings and the Dove (Holy Spirit) descends with the Tones of Peace. Is this the Dawning of the Ages of Aquarius?

After dozens of inquiries, I am blogging my thoughts on whether or not February 14, 2009 marks the day we enter the Aquarian Age.

BTW: I love that song old song (1968) by the 5th Dimension. I just downloaded it onto my Ipod. And I hope Saint Valentine’s angel brings her love to everyone!

Now, the discussion.

Man, I can remember being at the Aquarius Theatre in the summer of 1968 when the cast was belting out that inspirational song. As budding astrologers, we used to muse about the reality of stellar science in the lyrics. We were all a little disgruntled to get the astrological reality check from the elders: the Moon goes through the 7th house every single day, and every sign of the zodiac each month. And Jupiter aligns with Mars in less than every 2 years. So the Moon can be in the 7th house with a Jupiter/Mars conjunction every 2 years. People were looking at this lyric like it was some kind of Nostradamus quatrain or something. Well, it was great songwriting even if it wasn't real astrology, and it was so in tune with the times!

Let’s recall some key points in consciousness history.

On August 16th and 17th of 1987, people’s of Goodwill traveled and assembled to geomantic power points in a Harmonic Convergence all over the Earth to acknowledge the opening of a portal of consciousness associated both with the entrance into Aquarian Age and the final countdown of the Mayan calendar.

Years later, after a vigorous career as a professional astrologer, I wrote a book called The Grand Catharsis, an Astrolog of the Shifting Ages. On the cover was a beautiful painting I had commissioned of the Grand Planetary Alignment of May 5 of 2000, which I felt was a demarcation point for the new Aquarian Dispensation. I postulated that a progression of astrological signatures marked the final gateway of the 72-year cusp period between ages(ages are about 2160 years each, each of the 30 degrees is 72). One entry point was marked by the entrance of the Sun in precise conjunction with it's ruler Uranus at Zero Aquarius on January 21, 1996 -- celebrated visually for all to see in the sky by the 18-month passage of the brightest comet of the 20th century, Hale-Bopp. Giant collective global meditations were successfully organized via the internet including GaiaMind on 1/23/97, and LightShift 2000 on 1/1/2000 and 5/5/2000 to herald and ignite the entrance into the Aquarian period with positive intent.

Certainly, in the dozen years since this gateway, we have witnessed the explosion of (Aquarian-ruled) technology, and likely the most powerful and rapid transformation in our history, accompanied by an amazing spiritual awakening. These are two key components of the shift into Aquarius.

I have been involved in scores of discussions with astrologers on the topic of the shifting of the ages and its timing over the years. There are many astrologers who felt that the entrance into cusp of the Aquarian period from the Piscean (ages spin backward through the zodiac) was actually marked by the explosion of the atomic bomb at Hiroshima in 1945. This would put the completion of the 72-year cusp period very close to 2012. They made the strong case that it certainly bore all the earmarks of Uranus and Aquarius: a shocking, cataclysmic, and highly technological event, which did indeed result in instant peace (or at least the end of a World War). Still other astrologers have even made the case for 1821 -- the year that Michael Faraday invented the electric motor. And even others claim we won’t enter the new period until 2062.

Personally I feel that the actual marker of the ages is less indicated by any geocentric (earth-centered) astrology chart, as it is by the precession of the winter solstice sunrise against our Milky Way galaxy - an event currently progressing very close to the end date of the Mayan Long Count on December 21, 2012. And that, my friends, is a whole other conversation. Stay tuned.

And as Carl Sagan reminds us, our Sun is but one star of a billion-trillion in the universe.

Now, back to Hair, Aquarius, and Valentine's day of 2009, and all of that. Hey, any excuse for a party is fine with me. And an Aquarian love party, let's go! I certainly don’t want to rain on any parade. So let's look at the chart. There is indeed, a strong Aquarian concentration: 4 planets (Sun,Neptune, Jupiter and Mars), the asteroid Chiron, and the North node. Uranus-ruled Aquarius’ domain includes revolution, cataclysm, upsets, earth changes, invention, the unconventional, disasters, technology, and electricity. It also rules humanitarian pursuits, friendship, brotherhood, enlightenment, and miracles. Love always steers the stars and it is my sincere hope that Peace will guide our planet: but the Hair love/peace claim is not the principal theme of Aquarius. A prime Aquarian analogy was the Tsunami in Southeast Asia in 2005. Over 200,000 people suddenly went to the other side, and 2 million homeless humans formed instant communities who miraculously figured out their very own survival. In response was the most massive outpouring of humanitarian assistance in human history. Sometimes it is when we are at our worst when we shine the brightest. Through adversity, true brotherhood is born. I think the reality is that kind of transformational mechanism is currently in operation all over this planet on many levels.

The Reality check

However, to use the astrologically-dubious lyric of the Hair/5th Dimension song as the substantive base for the date of an entire age shift, supported by some weak astrology which occurs around the tradition of St. Valentine’s Day is indeed a stretch, at best. Yes, Jupiter, Mars and the North Node of the chart are indeed, a couple of degrees apart in Aquarius (the actual Jupiter/Mars conjunction is on February 17). And if you cast the chart in the morning, you can make the Moon fall in the 7th house (though the Moon has already moved from Libra into Scorpio by 7:25 am of 2/14). One can change the houses of a chart simply by arbitrarily changing the time of day (2 hours per sign). I imagine one could just say, hey, it's close enough. OK, close, but no cigar. The classical definitions of the 12th house -- where all the Aquarian planets would be -- is karmic debts, and limitations. I interpret the 12th house as the mansion of completion and lessons – which yes, could be spun as “spiritual transformation.” The article in question also stated that this configuration hadn’t happened in 1000 years, yet there have actually been two such Aquarian line-ups even since the play Hair. Since we are actually now well beyond the dawning of the Aquarian period, any chart should now reflect a pulse in the greater 26,000 year precessional cycle of the Great Year which marks the ages. So that leads to the concept of"dawning." OK, how long is dawn? I'm really not sure, though it’s certainly not one particularly day. The discussion becomes pretty esoteric, akin to “how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?”

That all being said, this rush of Aquarian energy during this time can certainly be synchronous with lots of breakthroughs and breakdowns, manifestations and miracles. With the Sun conjuct Neptune, dreams can come alive. and with Jupiter and Mars conjunct the node in Aquarius, the climate is ripe for some unusual magic.

Uranus, which rules Aquarius spins sideways to the rest of the planets in our solar system, and is known for being little quirky, odd, and unconventional. That theme may help you understand what you see on CNN.

So is this the dawning of the Age of Aquarius? Yes, indeed, ladies and gentleman, we've already been there for quite some time. And by December 21, 2012, the shift will be complete. How do I know? Just look inside and around you! See all the cell phones, computers, ipods, video games, global communications,star-trek like tech, wifi, online and technological everything? Look at the changes all of our lives are going through. Observe a world in turmoil. Notice an economy in chaos, wholesale realities transforming before our very eyes. Fossil fuels in the process of being replaced by Alternative-energy technologies. Hybrids, electric cars, windmills, solar, etc. coming on strong. Check out how one world is dying, while another is being born: a rising Aquarian tide is surging up against a falling Piscean one. Lots of people waking up. Yoga everywhere; the straightest people you know doing downward-facing dog. Then there is the amazing black guy as president of the United States. What is crashing in the ashes and rising in the remains is co-creating our future. It's all in God's hands.

A SuperNova of GoodWill

At Noon on January 20, 2009 at the Inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama as the 44th President of the United States -- a stellium of Aquarian planets – the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter will gather at the midheaven -- activating Obama's charisma and magic tongue in glowing incandescence. His soaring oratory with millions gathered and billions watching will ignite the flame of the human spirit like never before into a veritable global orgasm of hope.

One hundred and forty six years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, the big Wheel of Fortune has spun full circle and stopped on his magic number. Planet Earth is overdue for a global party, and the Obama Inauguration marks the moment. The combination of the collective sigh of relief for the end of the Bush administration, along with the birth of hope and inspiration of the Obama era -- signifies a genuine global rebirth. Put your dancing shoes on......

It’s been a long time coming.

The stars are aligned for the ignition of the collective heart of humanity to awaken in jubillence. The life giving Sun -- along with Mercury the messenger and Jupiter the lucky star -- have just entered Aquarius, sign of the dawning new dispensation. It is so fitting and appropriate that Barack Obama -- such a capable and shining star of promise -- -- will become the leader of the free world at this propitious point in Earth history. Just as one age is dying and another is being born -- as this planet both purifies and plants the seeds for tomorrow, hope overlights a fresh start. Change the head and the body will follow, we are told by the sages of old.

We are all a part of the birth of this miracle.

Though beware; many will try to make Barack into Piscean-age messiah. But the Aquarian Age, as Obama reminded us throughout the campaign -- is about we -- not me.

Symbolizing this climate for miracles were the heroics of Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, III, an Aquarian himself who had a precise conjunction of Jupiter with his natal Sun when he heroically saved 155 people on January 15th. Everything that possibly could go wrong went right. Let us never underestimate the Jupiterian power of luck and good fortune, particularly when it is combined with masterful skill.

Yes We Can! There are amazing things happening, and anything IS possible. Optimism will abound in the excitement of this Uranian/Aquarian energy, and under the Sag Moon in the evening, the planetary party will rock.

Though with Mercury and Saturn spinning retrograde, the reality checks are simply delayed for awhile. For this ebullient moment comes in the face of massive, seemingly insurmountable tribulations. It will take some very powerful juju to unscramble this egg.

So let's take a quick thumbnail look at Obama's stars and the Inauguration chart.

Barack was born under the leadership sign of Leo, ruler of the heart. Aquarius was rising -- the Uranus-ruled sign governing humanitarianism and the collective. Aquarius is also the placement of his magnanimous Jupiter. The Moon was in Gemini -- Gem-In-Eye -- those genius twins electrically connecting the vast poles of human interaction. Mercury in magnetic Leo, Venus in caring Cancer, energetic Mars and transformational Pluto in service-sign Virgo, Saturn in hard-working and resourceful Capricorn, Uranus in loving Leo, visionary Neptune in transformative Scorpio.

When Obama was just a Presidential rumor, I made the prediction that he would be the next President largely because of the dove-tailing of this point in time with this Aquarian line-up on Inauguration day. Right now, he is having his fortuitous fourth Jupiter return -- a once every twelve year cycle of good fortune. Obama is an evolutionary soul in the process of mounting mastery. His charisma (Sun) and communication skills (Mercury) are two of his greatest gifts, and both of these planets swing into direct Aquarian alignment with his returning Jupiter directly at the time of the massive gathering of the Inauguration. He is a veritable shooting star with quantum numbers of humans riding his comet tail on this Supernova of goodwill.

At the Inauguration moment, the Moon will be sitting directly on Barack’s midheaven at the Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp – the Phoenix rising point of the zodiac. He will empower humanity with the inspiration that we can all rise together from the ashes of the past by assembling the best and the brightest under his leadership. Though with Obama’s natal Saturn sitting directly on the inaugural chart’s midheaven, his message will be grounded in some sobering tones: "There will be false starts and setbacks, frustrations and disappointments. And we will be called to show patience even as we act with fierce urgency."

Afterall, civilization is in a period of a great sorting out process signified by the series of 4 oppositions of Saturn (the status quo) and Uranus (change to the new), lasting through 2010, including exact oppositions on February 5 and September 15th this year.

But the grander planetary procession also signals that this will be a hopeful transformation.. Jupiter’s transit through Aquarius in 2009 and then Pisces in 2010, is what astrologer’s call ‘mutual reception.’ This boosts the frequency of the planet’s involved in a fascinating web, so follow these connections here. Jupiter and Neptune co-rule Pisces, and both planets are currently in Aquarius, which is co-ruled by Uranus. Uranus is transiting through Pisces, the sign Jupiter and Neptune co-rule. These giants are amplified by this connection as though they were all in an Aquarian conjunction. This is particularly poignant to be happening at the Shift of a 26000-year cycle from the Piscean to the Aquarian Age. This fractal of the divine science of astrology offers a deep hope for the welfare and benefit of the very future of humankind.

Uranus and Aquarius are all about change, the very mantra of Obama. This country was actually born in synchrony with the discovery of Uranus. Uranus and Aquarius rule new technology and the freedom of the human spirit. It is the Mother of Invention for humanitarian purposes. And more specifically in our current phase, new Green technology. Of course, one of Obama’s principal directives will be to help shift this country from a fossil fuel centered economy to a solar hydrogen alternative energy driven world. The Aquarian concept is that with the right vision and leadership – together - we can do anything.

And with potent Pluto just now embarking on a 20-year journey through Capricorn -- a karmic transformation to a more grounded and sustainable world has just begun.

Of course the backdrop of the plethora of problems, the many campaign promises, the critical issues of the world, the designs of his political adversaries -- all daunt and haunt the task ahead.

But Barack brings another secret ingredient to Washington. It is the Spirit of Aloha which he will share with the world from his birthplace and upbringing in the islands of Hawaii. This could very well be the missing and magic ingredient which births a World at Peace.

The Final Degree

Two major astrological factors are synchronous with the meltdown of the global economy -- as well as the upcoming US Presidential election.

First, Pluto -- the membrane between our solar system and the rest of the universe -- is transiting through the final degree of Sagittarius until November 26th. And on the morning of election day, November 4th, retrograde Uranus precisely opposes Saturn. How low will the campaigns stoop, how toxic will the cleansing process pollute before power transfers in the United States of America? With Uranus opposite Saturn, can we possibly expect this transfer to be smooth? Good luck!

And how low will the global equity markets go? My feeling is that there will be a rather total reformation and transformation of the way business is done on this planet. There will be short term fixes, but the deleveraging process has only just begun. Venus completed a sextile and trine to the Saturn-Uranus opposition on Friday, which could spell some temporary relief on Monday, October 13. Temporary. Infusing the banks with billions in cash for liquidity, plus guaranteeing their loans has got to loosen things up, eventually. But it's also like living on laxatives. After a while, it makes a big mess. They'll shoot enough methedrine into the corpse to revive it. But will there be unexpected consequences?

Never underestimate the power of Plutonian energy. It is the single most potent force for transformation in human psychology. Pluto is now entering the last degree of the solsticial cycle -- the Winter solstice degree -- one of the four cardinal points. Pluto only transits this degree every 248 years -- last during the years that preceded the American Revolution and also known as The Enlightenment. And I don't think it has EVER occured during a precise Uranus/Saturn opposition. This is precisely the same point that the entire age is entering on December 21st 2012 -- a once every 26000 year phenomena. The Winter Solstice (in the northern hemisphere) is the longest night and the shortest day, the point where that modality shifts. Folks, this is brand new territory.

And Pluto, ruler of Scorpio, is also known as the dark lord of the underworld, the ruler of the transformational journey of death itself. Here we are during the cusp period of the Aquarian dispensation where one world is dying while another is being born? We are vigously churning through the metamorphic process of the Grand Catharsis. McCain and Obama embody appropriate symbology for these two worlds in collision.

Fortunately, Plutonian energy also rules the dimension of rebirth and regeneration.

Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius signified a period of expansion, which is precisely what the global economy has undergone in the last 20 years. Unbridled greed and the indescriminate scramble for wealth and power has painted the dark underbelly of this expansion in shadows. Pluto is now entering the Saturnian territory of Capricorn, marked by responsibility and contraction. The financial markets have invented numerous instruments of expansive leverage during this period whose foundations are in the process of collapse. Virtually everything of value will now have to be redefined.

Uranus underlies the force behind awakening and revolution and represents the innovative and new. It spins backward to the other heavenly bodies in our solar system and is a veritable astronomical anamoly. It also represents the unconventional, novel and odd, as well as the revolutionary. It was discovered around the time of the American Revolution as well as revolutions all over the planet. Everything it contacts changes rather suddenly. Conversely, Saturn is the force for stability and structure. Currently, a retrograde Uranus and a direct Saturn are on a collision course with an exact opposition at 8:33 am (est) on November 4th, election day in the United States. What a day for this classic showdown.

The obvious interpretation of this is a battle (opposition) between the new and the old, between the young and the old, the untried and the tested. Indeed, these are precisely the themes of the presidential election. But Uranian energy is always a bit weird, bringing upsets, surprises, twists and turns, where we learn to expect the unexpected. Uranus also rules technology. So what does this portend for the outcome? Nothing will surprise me, though I will be both surprised and delighted by the process of a smooth transfer of power.

The flailing of the powers that be from crisis to crisis has all been transpiring during a Mercury retrograde period. One piece of good news is that Mercury will go direct on October 15th at 4:06 pm (est). Certain wavelengths should begin to reconnect and stabilize.

I have often referred to the period between the last degree of Sagittarius and the first degree of Capricorn to be the molten lava point of the zodiac. In these volcanic fires, elements form and transform from simple elements into complex compounds. Coal turns into diamonds, and since we are carbon-based creatures, perhaps an analogous process is forging new dimensions in our very DNA. This helps to understand the rapid economic meltdown during Pluto's journey through this intense part of the cycle. VP Debate Reflections

I saw a wind-up doll parrotting trained answers at a rapid fire pace. I saw a poised man masterfully articulating facts in an organized and persuasive fashion. I saw an amateur flyweight against a professional heavyweight. I saw a woman reading a script against a man who was the script.

The pundits said there were no "gaffe's." How gentle they were being with Mrs. Palin. She refused to answer the moderator's question on several occasions, choosing to shift the subject to one of her choosing. She contradicted the commanding General on using the Surge in Afghanistan. She said the constitution allowed for flexibility in expanding the powers of the VP, even beyond Lord Cheney's. When asked about her Achilles heel, she simply bragged about her padded reseme. She contradicted her own position on civil rights for same sex couples. She didn't really answer about half of the questions, choosing instead to ramble on in rapid-fire fashion.

How would the pundits rate Biden using these tactics against Mrs. Palin?

And this is not to mention what none of the ANALysts have the cojones to say: How phony she was from the get-go with her "can I call ya Joe...." and the worst gambit of all -- waving her poor down-syndrome baby around as a prop!

What about the incessant flouncing and winking? Was she flirting with lonely male voters or signaling that all you voters out there know what she knows? Then there is the slogan for which her campaign is so proud....Drill, baby, drill. Has anyone told them that genesis of this epithet is the Watt's Riots in LA in 1962?

When Gwn Ifill asked Palin what she'd do about the mortgage crisis, she responded: "Let's commit ourselves--just everyday American people, Joe Six-Pack, hockey moms across the nation -- I think we need to band together and say, 'Never again!'" She didn't illucidate just how hockey moms and beer abusers could get together to prevent a financial crisis -- or simply answer the question by any measure. she got a pass. "I've only been at this for five-weeks...." precisely, the problem Sarah, thanks.

Other than that, she mistated McCain's positions on numerous topics from civil rights for same sex couples to giving bankruptcy judges the power to rewrite mortgages.

She was like a fairly well-trained seal at Sea World. She continually winked into the camera. She appealed to "Joe Six-Pack." Deep inside, I cringe at the prospect of Sarah Palin being the Vice President of the United States. That movie would make the Exorcist or Alien seem like a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Has America simply degenerated into "Six-Pack Nation?"

The good news was that I saw a masterful performance by Joe Biden. With a scintillating command of all issues, Joe delivered a powerful testament for being the Vice President, and if need be -- the President of the United States.

And I think that was the underlying message. The other one was that the Neocon's are cooking up in their laborotories -- Palin in 2012. You betcha (wink!)

Her foreign policy experience due to her physical proximity to Russia, or listing the foreign destinations of fuel-stop-overs as countries she has visited on her reseme -- a few of many cases in point. Palin shares many of the Reaganesque "teflon" qualities -- Reagan being a fellow Aquariuan. But as the saying goes...she is "no Ronald Reagan." Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn (old/stubborn) and Uranus (new/unconventional), and Palin exhibits both tendencies in extreme ways. One example is her belief in Creationism, complete with a 6000 year-old Earth with coexisting Dinosaurs and Humans, or her ability to both deny, dismiss - yet condone - this argument in public simultaneously. The more I look at her chart, the more my intuitive juices simply signal "con-artist." She has developed her skills at BS to a finely tuned Art. The Big Debate

The much anticipated VP debate is scheduled to start at 9:00 pm (est) on October 2 when the Moon is right on her midheaven at 22º Scorpio and squaring her 22 degree Aquarius Sun. She will be highly charged and overly primed. She will be out to prove her self and I suspect she will go way over the top.
These are very hard and challenging aspects. I would be surprised if Ms. Congeniality isn't highly strung, very uptight, perhaps boiling over with emotion. Mr. Biden would be well advised to play aikido with Mrs. Palin. The pit bull with the lipstick will be frothing at the mouth. Joe is so lucky they are positioned behind podiums. Their synergy should make this debate Big Entertainment. During the debate, the Scorpio Moon will square her Mars, so she will likely be in attack mode. Barack will be the big target for the attacks of Sarah Barracuda. The Moon will also be applying to a square with her natal Saturn, so I think you will see someone who becomes very frustrated. I am going to be surprised if she doesn't blow it well beyond what happened with Katie Couric.

Pluto, which takes 248 years to go around the Sun -- or about 20 years in each sign -- enters Capricorn on Friday, January 25. Tiny Pluto, the boundary between our solar system and the rest of the Universe is the deepest and most powerful archetype for transformation within the human psyche. Please note that the first degree of Capricorn is one of the 4 powerful cardinal points -- the Winter Solstice position. Pluto has been in the Jupiter-ruled mutable fire sign of Sagittarius since 1984 and now enters the Saturn-ruled cardinal Earth sign of Capricorn. Simply put, Jupiter is about expansion, Saturn about contraction. A good metaphor for this energy is what the analysts are saying about the global economy -- Recession, like it or not. September 11th was a very sad day for me. Yes, because of the memory of what happened. But more what happened in the YMCA Jacuzzi that evening. A lovely young Santa Barbara High School student was studying flash cards for a government class. We began conversing about current affairs. I asked her why she thought the US was fighting in Iraq. She replied, “because they had weapons of mass destruction.” When I pointed out to her that the various official sources of proof that they didn’t, she retorted, “well, they were going to attack us.” When I cited the recent Senate Intelligence Phase 2 and CIA report disproving this, she responded, “well, Saddam was behind 911.” When I reminded her that even President Bush has recently admitted that there was no connection between Saddam Hussein and the 911 attacks, she was truly befuddled. I realized what a thorough job of bamboozling and brainwashing the various officials of this administration and the media have done on our poor kids. Lies are now the truth, and the truth is a lie. How twisted things have become in the name of freedom and democracy. How frightening and Orwellian. I thought back to when I was her age and my blood boiled to realize that I never thought things would ever get like this in our beloved country. September 11th was indeed a sad day for me.

At its least, it should have been "grandfathered" in as a planet. So everyone is asking "what effect will this have on astrology?" Answer: Zero, none, nada, zip, cero, O. The IAU, and most astronomers for that matter, have no regard or understanding of metaphysics -- the soul, the heart, the substance, the mind or the mystery of the solar system or the universe. Nor of consciousness itself, for God's sake. Their rationale was based strictly on measurements, namely, that Pluto is a bit small and it's orbit not entirely circular, intercepting a portion of Neptune's. Astrologer's who are now apologizing for Pluto's existence are doing a genuine disservice to the divine science. The short story for astrology's proof of Pluto's existence may be found in the empiral fact that in thousands and thousands of charts, it works every time -- both in natal interpretation and predictive work! End of story. Astrology is a phenomena of consciousness, not of telescopic measurement. It's about inner space, not outer space. Pluto is a profound and powerful archetype of human psychology, despite it's tiny size or oblong orbit. And it's now 76 years old. Full Moon names date back to Native Americans, of what is now the northern and eastern United States. The tribes kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full Moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred. There was some variation in the Moon names, but in general, the same ones were current throughout the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior. European settlers followed that custom and created some of their own names. Since the lunar month is only 29 days long on the average, the full Moon dates shift from year to year. Here is the Farmers Almanac's list of the full Moon names.
• Full Wolf Moon - January Amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for January's full Moon. Sometimes it was also referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. Mercury Retrograde--Saturn Direct

Mercury in Aries is slowing into a retrograde this Saturday March 19th at 4:14 PM Pacific until April 12th at 12:45 AM Pacific. Mercury goes retrograde about 3 times a year for 3 weeks and is retrograde almost 20% of the time. This little wrinkle in the space-time continuum is a period when there are often delays and revisions, and it is a good idea to be more vigilant and diligent in your communications. Life goes on and does move forward. The analogy of the Indianapolis 500 proceding under the yellow caution flag may be helpful. This is a signal to ease into Spring, rather than sprint out of the blocks. Mercury will retrace the entire first half of Aries, turn direct on April 12th, reach the degree where it began the retrograde on May 1st and enter Taurus on May 12th. Saturn turns direct on Monday, March 21st and will transit through the last decanate of Cancer rapidly until it enters Leo on July 16th. Saturn is retrograde over 35% of the time. This stationary period at the beginning of Spring may be synchronous with some new committments and directions in your life.

I grew up watching Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle, Henry Aaron and Sandy Koufax. Ballplayers who played for the love of the game. Their drug of choice was adrenalin....ok, maybe a little tobacco and alcohol. It was really difficult for me to watch Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, Curt Shilling, and Sammy Sosa with poop all over their faces -- lying like little kids to their mama about their involvement with or knowledge of steroid use. Disgusting! I imagine the game today is merely symptomatic of the times in which we live...........the indescriminate scramble for money driven by greed, consumed in the consuming, win at all costs mentality. It looked to me like Jose Conseco was the only one telling it like it was. Mark McGwire just went from a likely Hall of Famer to a Hall of Shame shoe-in in my eyes with his livid BS. Pure unadulterated garbage. McGwire was born on October 1st of 1963 at 7:30 in the morning in Pomona, a suburb of LA with the worst air pollution in the country. So maybe that's it, that's why his body suddenly exploded into a characature.....it was the chloroflorocarbons of all the gas-guzzler's latently kicking in! Seriously. McGwire's a Double Libra with a Pisces Moon, and Venus directly opposite Jupiter in Aries right on his cardinal horizon line. Today anyway, he put on a power-hitting exhibition of the lower nature of that combination of signs. Most of the congressmen and women engaged in idol-worship and softballed the superstars. One of them even remarked to Curt Shilling...."you sound just like a politician," and it seemed like the room just wreaked of it from all corners. Pebble of a planet Pluto is the most powerful force in astrology as it is the boundary between our solar system and everything else. It is the root chakra, rules the unconscious. This week began with the Sun (identity) squaring Pluto, and ends on Friday with Venus (values) moving out of its trine with Saturn and into a square with Pluto. Pluto is power and squares are struggles, so there may be some potent issues in personal relationships which need attention. These represent short term issues which we need to resolve by the Spring Equinox. The Pluto situation brings up some larger issues, namely the global economy and the power source of civilization -- oil. This Earthblood which drives machines, greed and politics is like the proverbial "ring" of Bilbo and Frodo fame. We see oil around $56 a barrel, and gasoline today setting record highs in the US. Reality check: Oil was $30 a barrel at the beginning of last year. Tell me, what do you think the effect is of $25 a barrel of oil inflation? (See: http://futures.tradingcharts.com/chart/CO/M) Every inch that machinery moves-- planes, trains, automobiles; everything that is made or wrapped in plastic -- is inextricably tied to oil. The government cleverly took oil out of its inflation figures some years ago, so interest rates are not reflecting this hyper-inflationary information. Yet. The United States trade deficit -- the broadest measure of international trade -- soared to an all-time high of $665.9 billion in 2004 -- showing in stark terms how rapidly this country is becoming indebted to the rest of the world. Remember Ross Perot in 1992, and his charts about the National Debt of $5 trillion? Well, its now $7.5 trillion and increasing by $1/2 trillion annually. And in this country, consumers are 85% in debt! Pluto also rules debt and will be turning retrograde on 3/26. I wonder what reversals will synchronize. I know that bubbles are always their biggest right before they burst. Now, consider the intense setup of the power struggle: the world's largest oil reserves are held by Islamic countries, while the world's largest oil consumers are mostly Christian nations, locked in a struggle for "the ring." Pretty wild food for your thoughts, eh?

Springtime Initiation

It's a week before Spring and we feel the stars stirring in our soul jockeying for position. The planets are forming some tricky geometries as the new cycle dawns. The Good News -- Jupiter and Neptune are locked in a tight trine as is Venus and Saturn -- fueling trust in our inner guidance and the power of love in the universe that all will be well. Now, the tricky part starts today with the Sun squaring Pluto, triggering feelings of insecurity -- like the bottom is dropping out. It only feels that way. I have often told students that the best way to learn astrology is to follow the Moon through the 12 signs, as it spends 2 1/2 days in each sign, completing the zodiacal journey in a month, thus reflecting the essence of all 360 degrees each and every cycle. Give Peace a Chance for Romance

Magnetar Starburst --Tsunami Connection?

The cause; The explosion of a Magnetar -- a fast spinning neutron star with an extremely powerful magnetic field. The energy burst, packing more energy than the sun emits every 150,000 years, was not visible to humans, and the gamma rays were blocked by the Earth's atmosphere as they rushed by. Scientists said some operators of low-frequency transmitters were able to detect it. The burst lasted a tenth of second and came from a neutron star about 50,000 light years away from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius. Now, this event was in synchronicity to the most massive Earth changes we have seen in years: the Southeast Asian Earthquakes and Tsunamis, the torrential California rains, Ireland's 130 mph winds, etc. etc. Is there a connection? In response to your question.......I am a truth seeker, who wishes he knew the acid-truth of the matter. The Bush "foreign policy" seems to be about the expansion of the military-industrial complex, and control of middle-eastern oil. It's means are Octopussian: spread the hynotic ink of deception, control media with propoganda, carry forth the agenda. Yesterday's covered-up revelation that the FAA/US had disregarded 52 pre-911 reports that Al-Qaida would hijack planes to use as weapons, is a case for this point. Now that they have established a stronghold in the middle of the Middle East -- with bases, manpower, and supplies strategically located -- it will be a much simpler matter to overtake Iran and Syria. In terms of "martial arts," the insurgents have done remarkeable aikido with US/Iranian armaments, i.e. the thousands of pounds of ammo dumps which were left unlocked/unguarded/looted/ utlilzed. David and Goliath archetype revisited. Thousands of years of karmic cycles are unfolding in this area. Humankind is learning the very hard way that violence is not a means of conflict resolution...that greed and power are a self-serving a soul-cancer whose cure is only spiritual. There is really no us and them. This will of course will take quite some time in human terms, but it is humankind's evolutionary destiny. As the French philosopher Andre Malraux once said, "the third millennium will be spiritual, or it will not be."
